The Axioms

The Prosthetic Roads Axioms are the operating principles behind everything on this site.

They are not motivational slogans or theoretical ideas. They are practical standards developed through decades of leadership, problem-solving, and real-world experience.

Each axiom represents a rule for maintaining clarity, alignment, and forward motion — especially when conditions are uncertain or pressure is high.

Together, they form the operating system behind Prosthetic Roads.

Axiom 1 — Velocity

Forward motion matters. Progress comes from deliberate movement and the removal of friction that slows you down.

Axiom 2 — Treat People as You Want to Be Treated

Respect is demonstrated through fairness, accountability, and example. The standards you expect from others must begin with the standards you apply to yourself.

Axiom 3 — We Walk Out the Door on the Same Page

Healthy debate strengthens decisions, but once direction is chosen, unity matters. Alignment prevents confusion when pressure arrives.

Axiom 4 — Meet Expectations — Decide How Much Help You Need

Every task carries expectations. Success begins by understanding them clearly and determining what support is required to meet them.

Axiom 5 — We’re in the Excuse-Removal Business

Excuses are barriers to progress. Identify them, remove them, and focus on execution.

Axiom 6 — Jobs End. Titles Fade. Family Remains.

Careers and achievements have seasons. The relationships that endure beyond them deserve your attention while you still have time to nurture them.

Axiom 7 — Protect the Standard

Standards define identity. What you tolerate becomes the true standard, so guard it carefully.

Axiom 8 — Protect the Foundation

Lasting progress depends on a strong base — health, trust, preparation, and resilience. Ignore the foundation and everything above it becomes fragile.

Axiom 9 — When One of Us Fails, We All Fail

Success is shared, and so is responsibility. Strong teams own problems together and solve them together.

Axiom 10 — Work the Requirements

Results come from executing the real requirements of a task, not assumptions about what should work.

Axiom 11 — Be an Enabler, Not a Roadblock

Progress accelerates when people help others succeed. Look for ways to remove obstacles rather than create them.

Axiom 12 — Know the Mission. Work the Plan.

Clarity creates momentum. Define the mission, build the plan, and stay focused on the objective despite distractions.

Axiom 13 — Success Is Inevitable When You Do the Work

Consistent effort over time produces results. Persistence outlasts resistance.
